Zuellig Pharma’s presence in Indonesia has grown steadily in recent years. Following changes in the law in 1998 that allowed 100% foreign ownership of a distribution company in Indonesia, PT Zuellig Pharma was incorporated and started operations in October 2000. In July 2001, Transfarma Medica Indah was acquired. In June 2002, the further acquisition of PT Wigo Distribusi Farmasi (Wigo) allowed Zuellig Pharma to offer full distribution services with an extensive branch network.
In 2005, the company formed a strategic partnership with APL to combine APL's leading role in the pharmaceutical and healthcare distribution industry in Indonesia with Zuellig Pharma's front-running position in the Asia Pacific healthcare market, strengthening both companies and driving forward services for principals and customers. In 2006, APL and Wigo were integrated into one organization with APL as the platform for business operations.

APL handles prescription medicines as well as over-the-counter medicines and various healthcare-related products. All our branches are real-time connected via a dedicated Wide Area Network (WAN) to our head office in Jakarta. Sales data are available on a daily basis to our principals through Zuellig Pharma’s zip-online e-platform, ATOP, EIS and SMS systems.
